Hi Lisa!

How exciting, and rewarding to do all of that canning! I always loved stacking up the jars on my shelves, when I had my own garden and canned. I would take anything anyone was willing to give me (usually extra fruit from their trees) and can it up too! It gives you such a sense of accomplishment and security providing for your family.

I hope that your family doesn't have to worry about job losses, but it sounds like you have a great start by having your food supply stocked up, and with more nutritious food than you can get at the grocery store!

I hope to be able to post some recipes and sewing and crafting gift ideas here, and over at my sewing blog. It's always nice to be able to give (and receive) a handmade gift. I love your quilts!

If you have any ideas of things you would like to see, let me know!

Take care, Cheryl

Hi Cheryl, I'm anxious to see and hear more about your journey getting back to the land.
I"m an Oregon girl (born & bred native) so I can understand your pull to this area.
I've also been thinking about how I can prepare for hard times to keep my family going strong. We had a large garden this year and I did some canning for the first time by myself. I'm also planning on making alot of our gifts for Christmas this year to save money.
Have a wonderful day.
