I love to sew and do crafts. But it can be expensive to purchase all of those supplies and fabrics. One of my favorite things to do is to scour the thrift stores for fabric, ribbons, trims and old patterns.
Recently I felt like I hit the jackpot!
I found these pillow cases, and several sheets that I thought would make great quilt backing.
I may have to force myself to cut up some of these, but I found a wide variety. I didn’t pay more than $2.00 for the sheets, and $1 for each of the pillow cases. This gave me many, many yards of fabric! I also found this 2 yd. piece of denim. I’m sure that I can use this for a large bag or tote.
And I found this vintage Vogue Christmas pattern:
The wreath in this pattern is one that I had made many, many, many years ago!
And I thought that the advent tree, or the tree patchwork pillow might be something that I might like to do this year once again!
I only paid about 50¢ for this pattern.
The thriftstores can be a great source for finding sewing supplies. Just think outside the box!
