A Quick Christmas Decorating Project

I know, it has been forever since I have posted anything.  And it would literally take me forever to tell you what has been going on, so I will spare you.  I apologize, life seems to have gotten the best of me.

Since Christmas is so close and I have had to really scurry to get ready, yes, my tree just went up today, I have had to come up with some decorations around the house that are inexpensive and quick.

I wanted to add some Christmas cheer in my front entry, and came up with this idea.  I stopped by JoAnn’s fabrics and picked up some poinsettias and greenery that were on sale for 60% – 70% off.  I took this terra cotta and wrought iron bird bath and placed a wreath in it.

I chose a wreath that had a lot of berries and pine cones on it.  I then placed a silk poinsettia in the middle, and a couple at the base.

I love natural decorations, but they are hard to keep here in the desert, so I usually use artificial plants.  Instead of a wreath, you could  use some greenery picks and pine cones, berry picks, or garlands.  Any other materials that you enjoy decorating with.

If you have real greens available, gather them up and find a container that you like, and build your own decorated container near your entry.

I also put this together in my foyer……

I already had the candles on the stands.  I just took a garland, that matches the wreath that I used in the birdbath, and wrapped it around the candle holders.

You could take any collection of candles, place them on holders, a plate, or any base you have, and arrange greenery, picks and pine cones for a quick and easy decoration!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy decorating!

  1. Beautiful decorating ideas! I love the wreath in the birdbath with the pointsettia as a centerpiece. So welcoming to have such warm colors to greet you at the front door. Hang in there, my friend!
