Hot Spicy Nuts

Here is a great recipe for a tasty and healthy snack!  Quick to make too!

If you don’t like a lot of hot, adjust the amounts of the red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper that you use.

Ingredients:

¾ lb. nuts (I have used peanuts and pecans with great results)

1 egg white, beaten until frothy

2 t. kosher salt

1 t. red pepper flakes

½ t. cumin

½ t. ground oregano

¼ t. cayenne pepper

Toss the nuts in the egg white.  Sprinkle the seasonings over the nuts, mixing them well.  Pour onto a flat baking sheet.

Bake at 300° for 25 minutes.

After the nuts have cooled, store them in an airtight container.  You now have a healthy snack without any added oil or fat. Enjoy!
