It’s that time of the year again, where our thoughts turn to visions of a bountiful garden, full of fresh produce and berries, and whatever each of us enjoys planting!
Out come all of the new seed catalogs, full of hope and wonderful pictures of what we can grow…
And all of our gardening books to help us plan how we’re going to grow it.
Things will be different around here this year. Last year we broke ground for a new garden. My son brought a large tiller over (I only have a small Mantis, which I absolutely love! But it is not heavy duty enough to till up new ground.)and tilled up a garden space for me. Lots of hard work, digging out all of that grass, and tilling up the hard ground!
This year I am doing raised beds, built from red cedar boards. Basically, I will be starting over. And I now know how I am going to arrange the garden. I just downloaded an app on my ipad from Mother Earth News that I can use to draw out my garden. I can’t wait to see how it works!
This is me learning how to garden all over again, it’s really been awhile. I learned a lot last year, so I hope that the learning curve is a lot smaller this year. lol!
Stay tuned, more on the garden front to come!
