My name is Cheryl, and I appreciate you stopping by!  The past couple of years have been a bit of a roller coaster.  After living in the desert of Arizona for 14 years, in 2011 we relocated back to Washington state.  I was putting in a garden and fruit trees, and anticipating adding chickens to my family!  I also added 2 little kittens to our home, which are now fairly grown up!

Now, less than 4 years later, we find ourselves back in Arizona, a little further north than we lived before, which means a bit cooler, but still in what is considered the Phoenix metro area.

I have decided that I won’t let the desert stop me, and I am beginning a quest of learning to garden in the desert.  Of course we have restrictions on what we can grow here, meaning community restrictions, so I am going to be working around that as much as I can, using large pots and putting in a couple of planting beds in the back yard.

Please join me as I learn my way around growing food, doing some home DIY projects, which will include furniture by the way, and a few home improvement ideas.

You are welcome to share your thoughts with me, and any advice you may be able to offer, will certainly be welcome!

  1. Self raising flour , you don’t actually need the salt just the baking powder is enough.
