I have been spending a lot of time working on projects around the house, that I have had in mind for a long time.
One of those things is this night stand in our bedroom. Not a favorite piece of furniture, I have had plans to paint it for a long time. It is one of those items that the design wasn’t appealing to me, and I inherited it when I married my husband (who will not part with too many things, lol!) But it is heavy and the construction is better than most furniture I can find in many furniture stores. Besides, I am a thrift store shopper at heart.
So this is how it came out. Not too bad!
Here is the before picture. I had plans to take out the middle panel of the doors, but it is so well built, I couldn’t get them out without really tearing the doors apart.
You can see how worn out the top is. I even had to repair a small section of the veneer on the top.
It isn’t quite the way I would like it, but I figure that I will have to do some work to it after we sell the house, and move. The inside isn’t really quite done yet either, but I really needed to just make it functional right now. I used an heirloom white paint, and I purchased some glass knobs so that it matches the small pine armoir that I recently painted.
I also sanded off a little bit of the paint on some of the edges so that it has a little bit of that ‘worn’ look.
Thanks for stopping by!
Take care,
Cheryl
